1. This is a site to celebrate writing and expressing ourselves in a literary way so respect the pieces that you read. If you don't like the story, don't click on the title and start a typing war with the author or his/her readers. Respect includes no alienation of a single group or author by any other member of this board. If you are reported to an administrator for doing such an act, you will lose all personal messaging privileges. If you have multiple reports of doing such, you will receive whatever punishment the administration deems to be appropriate.

2. Plagiarism is wrong. This is obvious. In short, don't post stories you did not write nor have the permission to post. Stealing is an automatic BAN and you will be reported on the site you've stolen from. We will laugh at you...hard. We do NOT take this lightly.

3. We are a diverse board. Celebrate our diversity and embrace each others' cultural differences. If there is conflict, e-hug it out! Really, don't perpetuate a negative situation (no insulting a person's color, creed, gender, or sexual preference). You will be suspended from the board. There's enough negativity and critical harshness in the professional world; we only need positivity here (unless it pertains to celebrity gossip).

4. Do not stretch the board with extended sentences, words or images. Do not flood the board with repeated comments. It disrupts the pages and the readers. Board abuse won't be tolerated and your post will be deleted.

5. If you are unfamiliar with known fan fiction terms, you are encouraged to visit this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_fan_fiction_terms All moderators and Administrators are required to know this list.

6. If you post a story that has content which may offend people (viz: mature content such as slash fiction or has graphic situations), state it in the initial post for liability issues.

7. Ask permission to promote your site UNLESS you are affiliated with Fiction United. We love to become affiliated with people, so just ask Shi Shi or any of the admins and we will get back to promptly. Please do not be underhanded with promoting your board, site, etc. or you will be PUNISHED.

8. For new members and old members with less than 10 posts: You must have a post count of 10 (10 replies in either Gen Pop or Meet 'N Greet forums) to see the Center for Fiction Control – the story forums.
For old members with a post count of 10 and more: You must reply ONCE in the aforementioned forums to access the rest of Fiction United.

9. Last, but not least, the administration has the right to BAN a member at any point in time we feel necessary when one does not adhere to the rules listed above.
